Finding Apple devices that are prone to spontaneous combustion appears to have become all the rage. The Cupertino, California-based manufacturer is already under investigation by the European Commission following reports of exploding iPods and iPhones, and it now appears that one lucky user has found his ticket to fame in the form of a smoking iMac.

According to Chinese press, the user of a spontaneously combusting iMac was talking to colleagues when he suddenly noticed white smoke emerging from the top of his system. Oddly enough, he opted to briefly record the incident instead of dealing with the obvious hazard.

There appears to be no explanation as to why the fire started, and this is, as far as we can recall, an isolated incident.

Sue him for what, exactly?

There's no law anywhere against creating a PR nightmare for Apple. As much as they'd wish there was…
Another report like this… they are all coming out at the moment.

A laptop i was fixing the otherday went up in smoke but it was at least 4 years old and it was a crappy Advent so i wasnt overly suprised. Does this happen to a lot of machines and just not get reported or has apples growth started to cause problems for them and they have had to cut corners?
