The Commitments

At the beginning of 2008, Dell poached Andy Dow from his senior role at distributor Westcoast, a leading HP channel partner, to appoint him UK channel director and help launch its UK channel. Just a year or so later Dell has confirmed that Dow has left the company.

This is obviously a sensitive issue for Dell as it continues to try to convince the UK channel that it wants to work with it, despite having championed the direct model for the majority of its existence.

With this in mind, Dell sent us the following press statement:

We remain committed to our channel partners and see them as a key way for us to provide a great service to the many thousands of customers around the world that rely on them for advice, consultancy and service.

Greg Davis, current General Manager of Americas Channel Group will take on a new global role running our channel business, and Emmanuel Mouquet will run our EMEA channel organisation.

The Greg Davis appointment was announced on Dell's channel blog on 12th January, and was part of Dell's big executive reshuffle, but Mouquet's appointment seems to have coincided with Dow's departure.
