Introduction

Thecus has itself an impressive portfolio of network-attached storage (NAS) devices, including the well-received N5200 and the beefed-up N5200 Pro. Nevertheless, in the face of increasing competition from the likes of QNAP and Netgear to name but a few, the Taiwan-based storage specialist is continuing to up the ante with its recently-launched N7700.

The seven-bay "no-compromise enterprise-class" NAS, pictured above, boasts all the usual Thecus goodies and throws in a few notable upgrades - including support for multiple file systems, a sleeker-looking design, and a maximum supported capacity of over 10 terabytes.

It sounds impressive, and with a price-tag of £950, it quite frankly should. Interested? Take a look at our quick video preview and then move on to our break down of features and performance.
