The first 3D game for Wii has been announced by Data Design Interactive, who has revealed that the third-person shooter, Battle Rage: The Robot Wars, will feature a 3D mode as well as a standard visual mode.

As well as being a shooter, Battle Rage will also have elements of a beat’em'up game and will allow players to control giant robots. Battles between the robots take place across arenas, with the action being described as "short, quick, brutal skirmishes." Players can fight alone, against up to three other opponents, or in a team against against the enemy AI. Every robot has its own weapons and additional enhanced weapon types can be collected on the arena.

Players can customize their robot’s parameters in the single player and multiplayer modes to create their own unique fighting style. Also, new and powerful robotic upgrades will be unlockable via the story mode.

It'll be just like reliving the 1980's, but that's probably a bad thing.
