Interplay, the developer of the original Fallout series, has launched a new website that reveals it is working on a new Fallout MMO.

Although Interplay sold the Fallout IP to Bethseda earlier this year, who will be releasing the third iteration of the post-nuclear role-playing game, Fall Out 3, on October 31st, the company held onto the rights to develop an MMO title in the franchise.

Using the money procured from the Bethseda deal, Interplay has now been able to begin work on the new title and it has also secured Chris Taylor, one of the original designers on Fallout, as the lead system designer on the project.

Though the Interplay website doesn't specifically mention a new Fallout game, an official company announcment doesn't take much deciphering.

Interplay say that is is opening a new studio in Orange County, California that will be working on "new MMO, code-named Project V13, headed by original creators of Fallout". It's highly likely that V13 refers to Vault 13, which was an early working title for the first Fallout game.

In April 9, 2008, Interplay confirmed that they will also undertake sequels for Dark Alliance, Earthworm Jim, Descent and MDK series.
