Dell launches PCs for emerging economies

Dell has launched two new Vostro laptops and desktops designed specifically to be affordable to businesses in emerging economies.

Dell hasn't listed prices as they're likely to vary from country to country but with the Vostro 1510 already available in the UK for £249, we're most likely looking at sub £200.

Here are the specs:

 

A860 laptop

Screen: 15.4" HD

CPU: Up to Intel Core 2 Duo

Storage: Optical and up to 160GB HDD

Memory: 1GB plus option to upgrade

OS: Choice of Ubuntu or "various" types of Vista

 

A840 laptop

Identical spec to A860 apart from:

Screen: 14.1" LCD

Storage: Optical and up to 120GB HDD

 

A180 desktop

CPU: Up to Intel Core 2 Duo

Storage: Optical and up to 160GB HDD

Memory: Not stated

OS: Choice of Ubuntu or "various" types of Vista

 

A100 desktop

CPU: Intel Atom

Storage: Optical and up to 80GB HDD

Memory: Not stated

OS: Ubuntu
