The fifth instalment in the Sid Meier's series comes exclusively to PC this Autumn!

The next instalment in the popular Sid Meier's series will be built from the ground up to take advantage of the Civilization IV engine and will be released this Autumn exclusively on PC.

Sid Meier’s Civilization IV: Colonization is currently in development at 2K's Firaxis Games development studio and will involve leading one of four European nations on a quest to conquer and rule the New World.

Gamers will be challenged to guide their people from the oppressive motherland, discover the New World, and negotiate, trade and fight with both the natives and other nations as they acquire power and fight for freedom and independence.

2K say that, "colonization is a total conversion of Civilization IV that combines Civilization’s addictive “just one more turn” gameplay with all-new graphics and features that add more depth to the franchise. New features, such as a brand-new interface, improved diplomacy options and the included modding tools ensure that Colonization will be the next great title from gaming’s premier strategy game developer."

“We’ve received many requests from fans over the years to bring back Colonization and now seemed to be the perfect time to do that,” said Sid Meier, director of creative development at Firaxis Games. “The Civilization IV engine provided a fantastic foundation for a new Colonization experience and allowed us to create something great for both new players and long time fans of the game.”

You'll be glad to know that you won't need the original Civ IV title to play the latest game.

I loved Conolization on the amiga :D

Spent days on end playing it.

Hopefully with the improvements of the Civ4 engine since the original colonization came out we should have an even bigger and better gaming experience.
Why wont he think of my social life :( It's going to get ruined(again).
I Hold Sid Meirs responsible for my poor GCSE and A-Level results.

When i should have been revising for GCSE`s I was playing Civilization and then My A-level revision was destroyed by Civ 2. I played for 5+ hours at a time.
I went an all new civ to be honest. This is just building on civ four. I thought we were due a whole new game to be honest. So while im happy that there is a new game coming. Im unhappy because its not a revolutionary change.
