Leaves by mutual consent, yeah right

Blacksite Area 51 lead designer Harvey Smith has left his role with Midway's Austin studio by mutual agreement following the negative comments he made regarding the company's latest videogame.

The alien-blasting first person shooter, entitled BlackSite in the UK, was only released last Friday, yet Smith went on record earlier in the week at the Montreal Game Summit where he said that he was partly to blame for the game's problems and stated that the project "was f***d up," from the beginning.

It's probably not the wisest move to slag off a game for the company you work for when it's only just been released in the US,was awaiting its European debut and when it still has the PS3 version in the pipeline. But, you can't knock Harvey for being truthful.

It's a pity Midway didn't quite see it like that.
