Computex 2007 Like so many mainboard-makers, FOXCONN's COMPUTEX showing includes forthcoming product based on the Intel X38 chipset.

And, also like many rivals, FOXCONN's board, the X38A (pictured below) will be a combo design that's able to accept DDR2 or DDR3 memory.

But the X38A is no me-too mainboard. It will have one claimed stand-out feature - the ability to run multi-GPU configurations from either AMD or NVIDIA.

[advert]Better still, the company reckons that buyers won't have to make the tough choice between using NVIDIA SLI or AMD CrossFire, since the board will support both!

FOXCONN says the trick will be in the special drivers its planning to release for SLI and CrossFire.

However, it makes no mention of whether they'll be locked to a particular BIOS string that's unique to its own mainboards.

If it doesn't do that, then the drivers may end up being suitable for use with any and all P35/X38 boards! :-)
