PRESS RELEASE

Taipei, Taiwan, May 6, 2020 – QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking, and storage solution innovator, today introduced the new dual-core 2.0 GHz short depth rackmount 4-bay NAS – TS-451DeU. Featuring a compact 1U 12-inch-depth chassis that allows easy installation in small media cabinets or places with a lot of cabling, the TS-451DeU provides dual 2.5GbE ports, two M.2 2280 SATA 6 Gb/s SSD slots, storage scalability, and highly-anticipated business and media features. The TS-451DeU is an ideal cost-effective entry-level rackmount NAS.

“The TS-451DeU presents a modern 2.5GbE NAS solution for businesses to tackle everyday tasks like file backup/restore, and to boost team collaboration with higher productivity,” said Jason Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP, adding “As the short depth design is suited for media cabinets, the TS-451DeU is also an ideal multimedia server with the support of video streaming and transcoding.”

The 4-bay TS-451DeU is powered by an Intel® Celeron® J4025 dual-core 2.0 GHz processor (bursts up to 2.9 GHz), features 2 GB DDR4 memory as standard (expandable to 8 GB), and supports AES-NI encryption engine and SATA 6 Gb/s drives. Two built-in 2.5GbE RJ45 ports allow high-performance network deployment and deliver up to 5 Gbps under a Port Trunking configuration. Users can also leverage QNAP’s full range of networking solutions (sold separately) to build collaborative, future-proof IT infrastructure for bandwidth-hungry applications – for example, 10GbE/5GbE Multi-Gig PCIe expansion cards to upgrade their computers, and 10GbE Multi-Gig switches to connect multiple workstations and devices. The TS-451DeU has two M.2 SSD slots for optional caching configuration to boost application performance, and supports Qtier auto-tiering to maximize storage efficiency.

The TS-451DeU meets storage demands for security, backup, file sharing, and central management. Qsync streamlines cross-team file sync to boost productivity. Block-based snapshot ensures data protection and instant restoration, and works effectively against encryption-based virus threats. HBS (Hybrid Backup Sync) with 2.5GbE connectivity facilitates local/remote/cloud backup tasks, and saves time and storage with the help of QuDedup technology that deduplicates backup files at the source.

The intelligent, easy-to-use TS-451DeU features a built-in App Center that includes rich install-on-demand apps to increase NAS application potential, such as hosting multiple virtual machines and containers, deploying a cloud storage gateway, using a Plex® media server, creating a multi-zone multimedia hub, implementing a professional video surveillance system, and more.
