It looks like Hewlett Packard is readying a new high-end laptop convertible machine called the HP Spectre 13 x360. While this computer is yet to be officially unveiled by HP the folks over at Liliputing found it mentioned on HP's official web support portal and Tablet PC Italia revealed the full specifications and a range of pictures showing the upcoming 2-in-1. Unfortunately an embedded YouTube video demonstrating the device has since been removed.

The upcoming HP Spectre 13 x360 uses the 'x360' suffix due to a special hinge which facilitates its conversion between form factors. This is therefore yet another Yoga-type entry to the convertibles market. The other thing that is probably obvious from the name is that this is a 13-inch screened device (13.3-inches to be more precise).

As a high end device this machine will come packing a fifth-generation Intel Core Broadwell-U processor, there won't be Core M versions made. The list of key specifications, as revealed by Tablet PC Italia, are as follows:

  • Intel Core i5-5200U or i7-5500U
  • Integrated video card Intel HD 5500
  • 8GB of RAM LPDDR3
  • SSD 256 or 512GB
  • Vivid HD 13.3-inch screen (2560 × 1440 pixels)
  • Passive capacitive digitizer
  • Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n with Bluetooth 4.0
  • Support Miracast and Intel Wireless Display (WiDi)
  • 3 USB 3.0 ports; HDMI; miniDisplayPort; SD; audio combo
  • Stereo speakers
  • HP TrueVision FullHD camcorder with dual microphone
  • Backlit keyboard, trackpad, HP Control Zone
  • Integrated battery 3-cell, 56 Wh (offering around 10 hours of battery life)
  • Weight: 1,510 grams
  • Dimensions: 325 × 218 × 15.9 mm

Three versions of the above laptop will be shipped in Feb, identified as follows; 13-4006nl (L2U09EA), 13-4003nl (L6Z31EA) and 13-4007nl (L6Z84EA). The cheapest in the range will be priced at 1299 Euros in Italy, which is just under the £1K mark. Liliputing expects the entry level HP Spectre 13 x360 to be priced nearer to £900 on the UK market.
