PRESS RELEASE

LinkStationTM 200 offers world's first smart user interface accessible on any mobile device

London, UK, 12 March 2014: Buffalo Technology, the global manufacturer of storage and networking solutions, today extends its consumer NAS range with the ‘mobile first' LinkStation 200 series. The device combines security and simplicity with extensive data storage and a world-first mobile optimised user interface, which allows users to access their data anywhere, anytime and on any mobile device.

The entry level LS210 (single bay) and LS220 (dual bay) devices provide all the necessary features to ensure simple and secure on-the-go data access, suitable for advanced or entry-level NAS users.

The LinkStation is preconfigured and ready to use within minutes, with an intuitive user interface that guides users through the configuration process. After the device is setup, consumers have full access to their data using their smartphone, tablet or web browser with a free personal cloud, enabling secure remote access to the device. Free Apps are available for iOS, Android and Windows mobiles.

The LinkStation 210D arrives fully populated with 2, 3 or 4TB capacity. The LinkStation 220D arrives either as Enclosure or fully populated with 2, 4, 6 or 8TB capacity. Both offer read speeds up to 100MB/s, allowing users to transfer 1,000 photo files in under a minute.

Users can also stream up to 4 HD films simultaneously, making the storage devices perfect for the home. The LinkStation 200 devices features a fan-less design for almost silent operation, while UPnP and DLNA support powered by TwonkyTM enable users to control any media contents on the LinkStation or smart devices and stream them to appropriate DMR devices.

Klaas de Vos, Chief Operating Officer at Buffalo Technology, said: "This state of the art NAS offering ensures Buffalo is providing its customers with an easy to use ‘mobile first' storage solution. The LinkStation is built around the user and is the only series available on the market that supports full device setup via a smartphone or tablet.

"Users often encounter restricted access to their data, however the LinkStation 200 enables them to securely access their data and media files on the go - with no compromise on performance or security. As the industry continues to rely on mobile devices, it is extremely important that Buffalo meets the changing needs of its consumers."

The LinkStation 200 devices are compatible with both PC and Mac, are Time Machine ready, and come with five award-winning NovaBACKUP® for PC licenses, worth over £200.
