SEGA has been confirmed as the developer and publisher behind the video game tie-in for the London 2012 Olympic Games, which will launch in June to coincide with the anticipated sporting event.

Over 30 Olympic events have been recreated across the official Olympic arenas, with a host of new disciplines making their debut, including Keirin (cycling) at the Velodrome, 10m synchronised diving at the Aquatics Centre and trampoline at the North Greenwich Arena.

SEGA has yet to reveal the final list of events, but it has confirmed that Kinect and PlayStation Move will feature in some of the disciplines, including the 110m Hurdles, Beach Volleyball (Kinect only) and 25m Rapid Fire Pistol (Move only.)

SEGA has confirmed a single player Olympic Games mode, online and offline multiplayer and party play, as well as global online leaderboards. The leaderboards will track personal medals gained whilst playing online, with each medal won added to that nation’s medal table.

SEGA is also working on Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games for Wii and 3DS, which will also be released in June. You can view the 3DS trailer below:
