According to trade mag, MCV, Activision is poised to buy-out Take-Two Interactive in a move that would see the publisher net some huge franchises, including Bioshock, Mafia and Grand Theft Auto.

Having already joined forces with Vivendi Games in 2007 for $18.9 million, Activision has already bought the rights to publish some hugely popular games, including World Of Warcraft and Starcraft, which have sold well recently next to its home-grown franchise, Call Of Duty. But acquiring Take-Two could take the company to a whole other level.

Having recently conducted some early spring cleaning, by axing its Guitar Hero, DJ Hero and True Crime franchises, the acquisition of Take-Two by Activision would offer some very nice replacements to help swell the coffers, but will Take-Two accept the offer?

A much-publicised, aggressive bid to buy Take-Two was made a few years ago by Electronic Arts, but its $2 billion offer was turned down. Analysts, however, believe that Take-Two would be foolish to turn down an offer the second time around. Only time will tell.

Please, God no……..

I am hoping that Take-Two can tell Activision to shove it. This is all we need, Activision grab games, milk them and turn them into rehash of the same old crap and then dump the studio's and the franchise when the sales slump.

Agreed 100% - They also then have a habit of making PC releases very poor! Take two are one of the few to decent PC releases.
+1 ^ on both post's …….
+2! Couldn't have put it myself, really hoping Activision don't get their hands on any other games!
+3, but sadly I expect it is inevitable.
