As of this writing, Novatech's rating here at Hexus is above average. I would not describe my service experience with them as such! Their website is easy to navigate, their prices aren't the best but neither are they expensive, and - perhaps most importantly - in the past I have had to return a couple of things to them, and their support staff were very helpful. RMA's were posted, couriers arrived when specified, and items were refunded or replaced in reasonable time. The only other quibble I have is that they still insist on using polystyrene to pad items. Not that this doesn't do the job, but plastic air bags are preferable and much more environmentally friendly. I give pricing and products a 3 only because of the literally average prices, the products they stock - on the other hand - are fine. Recommended. |

I don't know why my previous rating was removed but here we go again: A few months ago I purchased an Athlon X2 processor and a motherboard to go with it. Later it turns out the motherboard had a fault, but it took them THREE weeks to get the CPU back to me. It took a week and a couple of days after my initial inquiry just to receive the bloody RMA number. I had to send the goods back at MY expense, although to be fair they sent the CPU back at none further. There IS a phone number for them, but the person on the other end was not very helpful, nor did they sound like they wanted to be helpful. E-mails were not always replied to, and when they were they often took days to get back to me. I have ordered from PCND in the past, and to their credit, their prices are pretty good and they stock some things other retailers don't have. However the lack of phone support, a very sluggish-to-reply tech support team, and no willingness to send a courier out to collect faulty goods all add up to a horrendous support experience. DO NOT ORDER FROM PC NEXTDAY. Edit: Well, it took a while, but PCND DID refund me for the motherboard. Which is something, I suppose. |

Great staff at my local store, I have to say. The Radioshack of our time - these guys know their stuff. The store is also very well laid out - shows they care. I'd have no hesitation buying from them if I knew I might have to come back for customer support. The problem is more one of cost. Have a look at their brochure... oh hold on, you have to BUY it first! So just use their website. Um, what!? Is that really as overpriced as I think it is? Yes it is: their prices for computer peripherals and components are shocking. Even so, if I were recommending a store to Joe Consumer, I'd certainly recommend Maplin over PC World! At least the staff know what they're talking about! :x P.S. Forgot to mention, their website doesn't seem to list as much as the brochure. You're better off looking in a store. |

Not sure what to say here, except that I haven't had some of the problems others here (and on Romulus) have described. Before moving to Scan, I used to buy goods from Savastore quite often, even as far back as when they were called Watford Electronics. Their prices are still very very competitive, and they have a LOT of stuff in stock (or at least did way back when). I have had to send a couple of things back to them, and whilst I wouldn't describe the process as painless as Scan (really, Scan set the best example here), I received the RMAs in fair time. So, my votes are honest - these guys were pretty good to me. But I've since been scared off due to the bad press! Consider Savastore if you can't find goods elsewhere (older motherboards, especially). |

Overclock's prices aren't the best, but sometimes they have stuff in that other sellers don't. Their website is good - very clearly laid out. I've had returns numbers from them fairly rapidly, although their postage cost is a little steep. Recommended. |

Excellent website, fantastic prices (I've only found them beaten by another reseller on two occasions), helpful staff and - perhaps most importantly - RMA numbers sent within minutes. Yes, on those rare occasions I've had defective goods from these guys - and I've made a lot of orders through Scan for my clients, over the last two years only had a couple of defective items - I've had a returns number e-mailed 10-20 minutes or even sooner, after making the requisite phone call. Hate to sound like a fanboy, but if Scan keep this up, I can't find any reason to look elsewhere. Strongly recommended company. One small quibble: though their website is well laid out, the small text and needless limit to the width (quite apparent on my widescreen monitor), make browsing just a little less comfortable than I'd like. |

A well laid out website, and great staff that I've spoken to: I was on a job with a Toshiba laptop - the client wanted to upgrade the RAM but the model listed (Satellite L20), wasn't on Crucial's website. The staff member I spoke to just happened to have one of these "Satellite L20" laptops and confirmed for me that it was in fact a Equium L20. Fast posting as well, haven't had to send anything back but based on the experiences above and in the past, I have a good feeling it'll be painless! So far every stick of RAM I've had from Crucial, works fine. I do wonder if their cardboard packaging is sturdy enough though. |
