Haven't used these since they sent me a faulty Graphics Card as part of a system build order and the phone lines were 'permanently' off the hook. I threw it away in the end. |

As an alternative to E-buyer I wanted to start using this company. Decent pricing and quick delivery seemed to be the case on the first order. Their despatch notification system is confusing as you might get 3 or 4 e-mails detailing despatch of the same order. On the first ones it might say 'items to follow' - even when they are only in pick! This is worrying if you check your e-mails frequently as you think you might be getting split consignments or differing delivery dates. However, Customer Services were quick to ring & reassure me. On my second order, an item has gone missing and the RMA feedback system is not seemingly very effective as the item has been received back (although it was in fact undelivered) and erroneously been processed for a refund. I am sitting here 11 days after it was supposed to arrive, still waiting and none the wiser. (I have checked that I've not been refunded, but CS have not responded to my e-mail, there is no telephone number - a bit Ebuyer-ish (yes, I know they have one now) ). I just want my case! |

Bought a mainboard from these as Ebuyer were out of stock. It arrived really quickly, but it was a load of rubbish (and I mean packed within a load of shredded cardboard in a biscuit box)! RMA process was slow and I haven't received any return postage. Tech support responded to a query with a BS answer. |

These are a division of Evesham. Initially I was attracted by the low pricing, but after only 2 orders I would never use them again. They misdescribed the item, admitted it, it was RMA'ed for exchange for the correct item. I was told it was being processed, they lied. I chased it up and it was awaiting inspection. It was apologetically rushed through but I requested a refund. The refund took ages to materialise. Customer services is a joke, the phone is deliberately queued before answering. I am still awaiting a promised refund of return carriage - I'm not expecting this will be met. They are just inefficient and cannot back up their promises with effective actions. Website is average, but choice is very limited. Avoid! |

Insight are a very good company but are not interested in the home consumer market. They are really head-to-head with DABS in this area, both are very competitive when dealing with B2B sales. Delivery and pre-sales with Insight are excellent on B2B. Their prices are not the cheapest, but for reliability and flexibility they are second to none. Dleivery prices are also at a premium, not an issue on B2B quantities, but a lot for the home user. If you ask Insight to deliver, they will. RMAs are about average, definitely not poor service, sometimes there are manufacturer delays. I've had RMAs and stock issues with them as a consumer, but never a problem on B2B. Ebuyer stole ground on the consumer front - but OMG, read about my comments on that company! The website is shocking though! |

Ebuyer and I go back about 4 years. It used to be wonderful. Cheap, fast (free) delivery and no rubbish. It went wrong in 2003. I ordered a graphics card and was sent the incorrect item on 3 occasions, despite telling them it was incorrectly described. Since then, I had a hiatus of about a year and eventually, pricing dragged me back. It has been more than a mixed bag. I've had stuff missing from orders, 2nd hand goods as new, RMAs sent to the wrong address, had to 'remind' them to refund postage and order credits, delivery hassles, eNotes getting ignored and closed, and RMAs taking over two weeks to sort out. They have attempted to placate me with free delivery (refund of charges) and the occasional contact by 'phone has seemed that I have reached people who genuinely wanted to help. It seems the systems are letting the staff down. However, the prices have wandered upwards and the choice has narrowed, so Ebuyer will be placed on 'hold' as far as future purchases are concerned. Beware if things go wrong! Millions of dissatisfied customers can't be wrong. BTW - I find Initial CityLink to be the most professional of couriers I have ever encountered. |

DABS used to get a fair bit of business from me, but prices are not always competitive and delivery costs are about the highest or at best average. I have had many items which have lasted and some which were RMA'ed. The RMA system is a little inflexible and tech support is average at best. However, eventually RMA's were sorted out, no matter when the fault occurred. If it is within warranty, its gets swapped. Website used to be better and occassionally suffers downtime. Have been reluctant to go back, but often use their basket as a comparison when shopping around. |

Basically I have bought over a dozen different types of system memory from Crucial over a period of nearly 3 years. The online ordering system is foolproof and delivery has always been within 48 hours. I have had not a single RMA with anything ordered or supplied. You can speak to them on the phone, pre-sales advice is excellent and friendly. One day, all companies will operate this way. Sometimes a few pennies more than the competition, but worth it because you can fit it and forget it. Can't comment on RMA for the above reasons! |
