I ordered a new CPU (Quad Core 2.40Ghz) as their pricing was great but also they had the item in stock. Ordered it late on the day and still received the next day nice and early courtesy of TNT! As I didn't understand the shipping status I IMed Tekheads online and they did a quick check on the spot and told me the item shipped and that I got the last one hence the 'none in stock' message. Will definitely be back to buy from them. Also excellent shipping costs as opposed to certain other companies. Thanks guys :-)

Bought a Club3D 7600GT graphics card some time ago when it was on their special offer. They actually listed it as £110 when it should have been £117. They intially charged £110, but later charged an extra £7 without contacting me first. It didn't bother me too much because at the time it was well below what the other stores were selling it for. I surely wouldn't feel the same if the price difference was much larger however. The graphics card arrived quickly and packaged well. I installed it in my system, and all was good for about a week. The graphics card started displaying artifacts on desktop and in some games. I contacted tekheads for an RMA, which was sorted out extremely quickly and with no problems at all. Well, except that the card I sent was Club3D branded and the one I received back was a reference design, but nevermind. A 7600GT is a 7600GT after all :p

I recently bought from tekheads despite somewhat poor reviews here and elsewhere. (I read the reviews first but tbh having worked in customer care before it sounds like tekheads weren't entirely to blame in every case) Contrary to these reviews, I was very very impressed from start to finish. My order for the various bits and bobs for a PC I was going to build was processed quickly as soon as my bank had corrected the mistake they (my bank) made and dispatched. Everything arrived in good nick, but I had to return some RAM as I had inadvertently ordered the wrong type when my original choice was out of stock. This was dispatched and I recieved it the next day at 9AM! I built my PC and got it running, no problems with any of the bits. Then a couple of days later I discovered my surge protector (which I've had for years) wasnt and didnt. The PSU blew and I had to return it; tekheads didn't even argue, just replaced the PSU, which I recieved quickly as well. Now everything is sorted; I have a very good system and a big smile on my face. I recommend Tekheads. I spent just over half a grand on kit so its not like I'm a huge customer but they treated me very well.

Was pretty disappointed with the service offered in relation to a recent Order, given that I have ordered from them before without a problem. I ordered a graphics card and GPU heatsink (at a higher price than other retailers) in the hope that it would be delivered prior to the Easter holidays. I selected guaranteed next delivery which should have meant it would be delivered on 12 April (or if they really cocked it up, then on 13 April). Both would be in good time before Easter Friday. After the order I get an email saying that my requested delivery address (I had asked for it to be sent to my work address) doesn't match my credit card address and for "1st orders" they don't despatch goods to anywhere other than the cardholders address. The thing is, I've ordered from them on several occasions before and they've previously posted items to my work address so there shouldn't have been a problem. I try to telephone them on 2 occasions at different times of day - answerphone only. I email them twice. No replies as of today's date. I looked on the order status screen and they still haven't "authorised" my credit card even though I've given them home address, my full contact details etc. I then notice a message on their website saying that due to a change their back end computer system, no details are held of previous orders prior to March 2006. As there is was no hope of it being delivered ontime, I had no alternative but to cancel the order.

Purchased 2 CPUs with next day delivery. However after the CPUs were despatched I realised that they would no longer be required and so cancelled the order. Tekheads refunded promptly however without the inclusion of the P&P charge. When queried, they stated it was against their policy to do so. Now I would have taken this as fair IF this policy was stated when the order was placed (nothing in Tekheads T&Cs mentions a disparity to DSR terms, which expressely require variations to the default guidelines to be explicitly pointed out - the standard regulation [para. 12.1/12.2 IIRC] being that initial P&P charges be refunded). This 'policy' was therefore one merely bleated out by customer services after the cancellation and as such is not anything a customer would be aware of at the time of order (even if they had picked their way through every line of the T&Cs). Not a huge deal you may say however the principal of informing customers of otherwise hidden 'company policy' after they've handed their money over is rather repugnant and worth warning over.

Below is the complete RMA dialogue from my bad experience. Be your own judge on it, I think I have been very badly treated by a e-tailer that used to be very good before being taken over last april. the RMA goes bottom to top, check out the dates ..... Kris Small 19.Aug.2005 13:58 hello the quickest and best solution would be to buy an external usb floppy drive, otherwise if you wanted a replacement you would have to send it back to us again for another repair. sorry about this but there is nothing we can do. Chris Stuart 19.Aug.2005 13:21 I have finally installed this replacement, repaired motherboard, and everything seems to work fine, apart from the floppy disk. I have checked the cables etc and stuff, and on inspection there are pins missing from the header on the motherboard. Please could you bang your heads together and find a solution to this before I send it back again? I dont wish to be without a computer for another 2 months. Thanks Chris Kris Small 10.Aug.2005 10:37 Hello we should have got this on monday but our supplier sent it to our old address! we are deffinitly getting this tomorrow, so we will get it out on a next day delivery service for you so you will get it on friday. thanks Chris Stuart 08.Aug.2005 19:14 Please let me know what\'s happening..... Thanks Chris Kris Small 05.Aug.2005 16:34 yes we are very annoyed with our suppliers too! we was supposed to get these back from them on wednesday, we will see if they turn up on monday if not then i iwll do my best to sort it out for you Chris Stuart 05.Aug.2005 15:53 Ok, it was meant to be here yesterday, but STILL nothing. If you have not been sent the new replacement motherboard, would you please put me out of my misery and send me one of the DFI NF3 939 AGP boards? I have had a pile of bits hanging round here for 2 months now, and I have been let down by your RMA process big time! Every date that you have given me for resolution has been passed, and these are your dates, not mine. Please Please Please send me a new mtherboard now !!!! Thanks Chris Stuart ps when you send it could I have a tracking number so I can be in when it comes? Kris Small 02.Aug.2005 10:23 hello Chris I have just spoke to the supplier who said that we will get it back here tomorrow so depending on the time of day we get it back here hopefully you will have it by thursday. thanks and once again we can only apologise for the length of time this has taken to complete. thanks Chris Stuart 01.Aug.2005 18:41 Like I said earlier, I would still take a DFI Nforce 3 Ultra 939 as a replacement Thanks Chris Stuart Kris Small 01.Aug.2005 17:09 hello i am waiting for a guy at the suppliers rma department to ring me back ihave rang about 5 times today but apparantly the guy is always busy, i will keep trying Chris Stuart 01.Aug.2005 17:00 Please could you update me with what is happening to this RMA??? Thanks Chris Stuart Chris Stuart 27.Jul.2005 22:44 I am dropping you what seems like my regular weekly email to find out when you beleive that you will send me a replacement motherboard? Please let me know as soon as possible, and my offer to have one of those DFI nForce3 Ultra 939 AGP\'s still stands if it means that I can get my computer up and running again. This RMA has take 6 weeks so far !! Chris Stuart Chris Stuart 20.Jul.2005 21:09 If it would prove easier to you :) (and obviously quicker to me), you could always ship me one of those DFI LanParty UT nF3 Ultra AGP motherboards that you have just got in !!!! Maybe I could get one of those before the weekend? Chris Chris Stuart 20.Jul.2005 20:06 Thanks for the update, but this has definately been the longest RMA I have ever known... I know that you have had problems because of the company takeover, but surely you should have organised things better than what you have. \'There are never problems - just some solutions are harder than others\' Better management and forethought would have prevented this ever happening, and surely Tekheads\' good reputation must have been tarnished if this has happened to many..? Chris - in anticipation ! Kris Small 20.Jul.2005 10:26 good morning Chris I have just spoken to the supplier where your board is and they said we should get it back start of next week, if we do then you too should get it back middle of next week. thanks Chris Stuart 19.Jul.2005 12:15 Is there any sign of my replacement motherboard yet? Chris Kris Small 07.Jul.2005 20:50 ok, i think it will be around that time. thanks Chris Stuart 07.Jul.2005 17:22 Please note that I will be on holiday from 9th until the 16th of July, and will not be able to receive any deliveries during this period. If my replacement motherboard becomes available during this time, could you please hold it until I get back. Many Thanks Chris Kris Small 07.Jul.2005 13:46 our supplier has no taken it back but we are now waiting for a replacment. this isnt a quick process and there is nothing we can do to speed it up. ia m sorry you are having ot wait this long but is a general problem across the board where suppliers are not taking products back that the orginal tekheads bought. you are not the only customer who is havin to wait either. thanks Chris Stuart 07.Jul.2005 13:28 Please could you update me on my RMA. Thanks Chris Kris Small 30.Jun.2005 16:10 hello, it has been tested and found faulty, and as i said in a previous ticket we are waiting for a supplier to take it back at the moment i am having some troubles on getting it back. depending on which supplier will take it back, i will be able to give you a rough timing for when you should get it back. Some suppliers take longer than others to return it. thanks chris stuart 30.Jun.2005 15:09 I am sorry to keep badgering on.... I was\'nt told that you have changed owners, or whatever.. I have based my assumptions on the information that is readily available on your site, and from the emails that you have sent to me. Just look at the history on this ticket ! \"we should have the fault diagnosed within the next couple of days Chris.\" Please could you give me some idea as to when I could expect this to be resolved. ie; has it been tested / returned to manufacturer / still on shelf ...etc, and please could you keep me a little more informed. Thanks Chris Kris Small 30.Jun.2005 13:46 hello, sorry for the delay you will just have to be patient with us as this board we are struggling to get it back to a supplier as we technically never bought it, as it was the old tekhead company and we have no details of where items have come from which makes it difficult to put a time limit on with you, if you have any issues you can contact the orginal owner and take up any issues with them. but we will sort it out for you it will just take a bit longer than what we first said. I can only appologise for the time it is taking. thanks chris stuart 30.Jun.2005 13:36 Hi, Exactly when will my return be processed, you have not sent me any progress emails, and you have had my motherboard for over 2 weeks now. On your site it says \"The normal turn around for returned items is 3-5 working days.\" Why has mine taken sooo long. I am without a computer while this takes place, and I do a lot of work on my computer. I am currently borrowing a friends, but as you can imagine, this is not ideal. Pleas could you usher things along a bit quicker Thanks Chris Nigel Horton 27.Jun.2005 10:41 we should have the fault diagnosed within the next couple of days Chris. Regards, chris stuart 26.Jun.2005 18:28 how soon is soon? Chris Stuart > Nigel Horton 15.Jun.2005 10:51 Good news, your return has been received back. We\'ll begin processing it as soon as possible and will send you further emails. You do not need to contact us at this time. Nigel Horton 13.Jun.2005 09:30 Return #R700060 MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum Motherboard Dear Chris Stuart, Return R700060 Please follow these instructions to return this item. Clearly mark the return reference on the packaging and send the item back to the following address: Tekheads Returns Dept., PO Box 884, Lincoln, LN5 5AD, UK The normal turn around for returned items is 3-5 working days. If the item is no longer a current model we are usually unable to replace immediately, as there is no available stock, and would have to return the product to the manufacturer for them to replace. This can sometimes take up to 4 weeks dependant on the type of product. It is extremely important you read these guidelines: - Please make sure the item(s) to be returned are packaged suitably for transit to ensure the goods do not get damaged. It is your responsibility to ensure they arrive back undamaged, unless we have agreed in advance to collect the goods. - The best method to send the goods back to us is usually via Royal Mail up to 2kg or via Parcel Force for larger items. - Please ensure that the items being returned are insured for the right amount. If an item goes missing, we are unable to claim on your behalf. It would be down to you to make a claim with the carrier. - It is extremely important that you do not attach any labels, stickers, packing notes, brown tape, or similar to any retail boxes, such as a motherboard or a graphics card box. This is because when an item is replaced by our suppliers, they do not replace the packaging, only the item. Therefore if the box is defaced we are unable to sell the item on to another customer, despite the product being brand new. - To speed up identification of your items, make sure your \'Returns Number\' which you were given is clearly marked on the outside of the parcel for our returns department to see. Any parcels received without a visible RMA number can take longer to identify, or end up in the wrong department, which will slow down the returns process and delay your replacement / refund. - Don\'t worry if your refund does not show straight away, it can take up to 5 working days before it is visible in your account from the date when the refund was carried out dependant on your bank. - Non faulty goods returned to us as faulty can be subject to a testing fee of £8.51 + VAT at our discretion to cover the costs of our time in testing the product. - You will be responsible for the cost of postage of returning non-faulty goods that have been returned to us as faulty. - Please ensure you enclose all relevant cables, driver disks, etc otherwise your refund / replacement can be delayed while we wait for those to be returned. We require the complete set for products because otherwise manufacturers will not replace faulty items. - Refunds for non faulty items that have been used will be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% at our discretion. This is because we need to discount these products and advertise them as \'second user\' or \'manager\'s special\' in order to sell them. Tekheads www.tekheads.co.uk chris stuart 11.Jun.2005 01:30 I bought a K8N Neo 2 Platinum from you a while ago, and I think it died on me last night. I cannot see the order history to return the product. What has happened is I was web surfing, and the computer just died completely. I tried switching it back on, and the fans started spinning for about a second, and then stopped again. I cannot restart it at all now. Looking around the system, trying to fault find, I have noticed that the northbridge heatsink is absolutely unbearable hot to touch (It burnt me!) I turned off the power to the unit, and let it all cool down for an hour or so, and when I came back the northbridge cooler was cold, so I tried to reboot. Again the fans spinned for aboout a second, and again the board died. Again I touched the northbridge heatsink to check the temperature, and it is red hot again after only 30 secs or so of power on to the board. I think therefore that this may be the culprit, and I would like to return the board. could you send me an RMA number so I could get this thing back to you for a replacement or repair Thanks Chris Stuart

Hi, after finally being done with the massive ordeal it was to order from these guys, I thought I\'d post with my experience. Let me just say that if there was nothing wrong with the hardware, this site would have gotten a perfect rating. Their website, pricing, shipping, sales support are all excellent. But as most of you know, it\'s when something goes wrong that you really find out about a company. First and foremost, I must complain about their terrible customer service. While they do normally respond by email within 2 hours, this isn\'t always the case. And the much bigger problem is that their responses are usually short and uninformative, forcing me to email over and over again just to figure out what the hell is going on. Throughout this whole ordeal, I never ever received an apology, even after numerous screw ups on their part, and never received an email longer than 2 sentences even when I\'d write a page of complaints. Of course, they don\'t have a phone number listed either. I ordered all my parts on January 17th. The MSI 6800GT had just been listed and wasn\'t in stock yet. It came in stock about 4 days later and the order was shipped quickly. When I installed everything, I soon found out that the graphics card had a major flaw. I would get serious graphical corruption in most games within 5 minutes or so. I returned it, paying £18.50 of my own money to return a defective product. It took them 3 days of pestering for them to admit they had received it, and only on the third day did the RMA guy actually look for it. Without me emailing them, I would have received no updates whatsoever. I asked how long it would be before getting a replacement and received no response, but suddenly, before I even knew it was being tested, I was issued a replacement. Total turnaround time: 6 business days. Joy gave way to extreme frustration when I opened the package only to find that the MSI 6800GT had been replaced by a Nvidia reference board. Emailing them only let me find out that this was MSI\'s doing, but of course Tekheads felt no need to even warn me that this was happening. I wasn\'t impressed, but at least I had a working system... ...For about 3 days. Then my Gigabyte SLI motherboard decided to literally destroy itself over the course of one day. I disassembled my computer AGAIN and shipped it back to them, paying £18.50 of my own money AGAIN. Once again, they were super slow to realize that they had received the board. I sent it on a Tuesday, by Friday I asked them when they were going to get around to it, and the guy said it would be done by the end of the day. I emailed them again at the end of the day and the guy responded \"Until we receive your board, there\'s nothing we can do\" Finally, they had tested it by the following Tuesday, and sent me a replacement MSI board, which was good of them (one of the only reasons I didn\'t give them the lowest ratings). But of course, with my amazing luck, City Link lost the package. I called City Link, tried to figure out what was going on. Two days later, City Link finally admitted they lost it. After threatening never to shop with them again (as if I will anyway), Tekheads responded to my ultimatum and sent out a replacement that day so I could get it before the weekend. So in the end, it took over a month, £40+ of my own money, dozens of hours of my own time, just to get something I paid for. While defective hardware isn\'t the store\'s fault, they certainly did a terrible job in helping me fix the problem and on the whole, were super unhelpful, uncourteous, unapologetic, just basically didn\'t give a rat\'s ass.

Having dealt with tekheads for 9 months. I have decided to rate them for the following reasons. Pricing:- tekheads is one of the first webpages i browse when looking for computer equipment, and a low price. They are nearly always competative, and are prepared to match a competitors price, which they have almost always matched. Products:- I have not always been able to get what i want on some peripherals, but compared to other retailers i have been able to find a greater amount of the products i want, at a competative price from them, than any other store. Returns:- Having only asked for one return, i can only say that they have handled my request for a return quicky. Shipping:- Has always been fast well packaged, with the goods arriving in good condition. usually this has been next day delivery unless an item is out of stock, in which case they have usually been able to give me an answer to when they might be able to ship the item. this has usually been only a few days later. they shipping is alot faster than dabs or ebuyer. Customer Service:- They only respond by e-mail, but they have always been quick and helpful when responding to e-mail, therefore not being able to talk to somebody has never been a problem. They have always been helpful with any inquirers i have had about shiping dates, restocking times, price matching, and returns. Website:- This has now been updated and is alot easier to use, and shows a greater range of items for purchase, and is easier to navigate. I am sure that over time their website will improve in ease of use, as all improvements so far have been to make the website more informative, and easier to use. Summary, not perfect but one of the best websites i have used for computer goods. Buy again?:- Definatly, as i have had nothing but a positive and helpful experience from them.

Appalling service for me, unfortunately. First time buying at this store and will definately be the last... Ordered a fan on 1st Dec which was listed as \'Ships within 48 hours\'. On 6th Dec, my order was still at \'awaiting processing\' so I emailed them. They said it was due to being a new account but that they\'d authorise the order and ship it, so fair enough. However, by 12th Dec, the fan had still not arrived; order was showing as \'awaiting stock\'. They replied saying that they\'d have them in stock \'in the next couple of days\'. By 16th Dec, there was still nothing shipped so I asked them to send me a different fan and credit me for the difference. This they did, but the fan that turned up was next to useless, as it came with 2 bare wires and not a molex connector (product was called \'Panaflo 120mm 4 Pin Fan). As I don\'t have tools for connecting wires to molex connectors, I mailed them about the situation and asked them to send me either a wired molex connector or a cheap fan with a molex connector, so I could solder it onto the Panaflo myself. They replied on 21st Dec saying that they\'d do this for me. However, nothing\'s ever turned up. I can\'t be arsed anymore to even chase this up. All my correspondence was polite and civilised, so I shudder to think how they\'d have acted if it wasn\'t. In summary, poor product descriptions, poor availability accuracy, website anomalies (prices showing in my order details were screwed after the amendment), broken promises.
