Not sure what to say here, except that I haven't had some of the problems others here (and on Romulus) have described. Before moving to Scan, I used to buy goods from Savastore quite often, even as far back as when they were called Watford Electronics. Their prices are still very very competitive, and they have a LOT of stuff in stock (or at least did way back when). I have had to send a couple of things back to them, and whilst I wouldn't describe the process as painless as Scan (really, Scan set the best example here), I received the RMAs in fair time. So, my votes are honest - these guys were pretty good to me. But I've since been scared off due to the bad press! Consider Savastore if you can't find goods elsewhere (older motherboards, especially). |

Update: Finally, they shipped another Athlon64 to me. And guess what? It's another Venice. I mean, if they can't tell the difference, they could at least have the decency to admit it. |

I was looking for an Athlon 64 with a Winchester core to go into a Shuttle SN95G5. I specifically chose that Item at Savastore - description stated "Athlon64 3200+ 939pin Retail CPU (Winchester)", AMD Part number ADA3200BIBOX, Savastore item code 10279912. Item bought via company credit card snaffled off a director. I was shipped a Venice core (which is utterly useless), AMD part number ADA3200BPBOX. I immediately identified that it was the incorrect part, and registered the return first thing Friday morning, 7/10/05, asking for an exchange. I also mailed customer services with full information and asked for an exchange. I haven't so far had ANY response via either channel. Oh, and don't bother hanging on at their switchboard for an operator - their CS option tells you about contacting via the website and then drops you back to the main menu. If you "hold on for operator assistance", you get a terse "goodbye" and then cut off. Stock picking, abysmal. Customer service, very poor. Ability to contact, theoretically OK, but in practice poor. |

As an alternative to E-buyer I wanted to start using this company. Decent pricing and quick delivery seemed to be the case on the first order. Their despatch notification system is confusing as you might get 3 or 4 e-mails detailing despatch of the same order. On the first ones it might say 'items to follow' - even when they are only in pick! This is worrying if you check your e-mails frequently as you think you might be getting split consignments or differing delivery dates. However, Customer Services were quick to ring & reassure me. On my second order, an item has gone missing and the RMA feedback system is not seemingly very effective as the item has been received back (although it was in fact undelivered) and erroneously been processed for a refund. I am sitting here 11 days after it was supposed to arrive, still waiting and none the wiser. (I have checked that I've not been refunded, but CS have not responded to my e-mail, there is no telephone number - a bit Ebuyer-ish (yes, I know they have one now) ). I just want my case! |

Although what I bought was not very expensive, the expirience that I had shopping with this outfit was very bad. I bought an Apple firewire cable from these guys. The product page had an Apple symbol on it, the description said it was made from Apple and the product detail was lifted straight from the Apple website (including the description of it being white and thin). What I got was a thick black non-branded cable in a plastic bag that had a sticker that said Apple on it. It clearly wasn\'t an Apple product which was confirmed after checking with an Apple store. They deliberately do not have a telephone number for customr services on their site and when you do find a number and get through they pass you around and are no help. I returnred the product after complaining stating that it was not what I ordered (an actual option that you can pick when returning stuff) only for them to change the description so I would need to pay for postage for its return. I write a completly honest review of \"This product is not white and not as thin as the firewire cables you get with an iPod\" and they decide not to put it on the product page. They have since decided to change the description to not include any Apple related wording which proves that they knew that their description was inaccurate but have failed to reinburse me with a refund. |

I have bought 25 products from Savastore over the last 3 years ranging from computer components to digital cameras and printers. Basically, their service is fine unless something goes wrong. In 4 cases I was sent faulty products and only in one case did I manage to satisfactorily resolve it with Savastore. Even then they made me wait 6 weeks after I had returned the product before they returned my money. If you are sent a faulty product by Savastore you only have 7 days to return it or you\'re on your own (and they\'re really strict about that 7 day deadline). Also, if you return a product with an intermitent fault and they do not agree that it was faulty they reserve the right to charge you for their time and return postage costs. It\'s not what I would call service and I will not be using them again now that I have found Hexus and realised that there are significantly better retailers around. Savastore are best avoided. |

Very poor Customer Service. I have sent 5 e-mails (the first in Dec 2003). No response. Memory would not work with memory i had purchased from them 6 months earlier (both Aries PC2700). Avoid at all costs. |

Bought a Nostromo Speedpad n52. Price was about right but it took 5 days to arrive despite being in stock on the web. Took 3 working days to arrive after I had been informed via email that it had been sent out. It\'s not the first time I have bought from them and I probably will do again. They just need to sort out their delivery and notification system |

Bought 3 Samsung Spinpoint 160Gb hdds a couple of months ago from Savastore. They arrived in a courier bag inside a box with a single strip of thin (2cm!) foam. The box had openend itself during delivery and the hdds had clearly been flying around with no protection. They work but I wouldnt buy disk drives from them again if they dont even seal their packages properly. Also bought a CDRW from them a couple of years ago when they were Watford; apart from their own brand CDRs being incomptible, all was ok. |

We've been using Watford Electronics/Savastore on and off for donkeys years, normally fast and efficient service. Good range of products at reasonable prices, but their website can be hard to navigate at times (try finding PSU's without doing a search on the site;) ). |
