Bought a case that was incorrectly described. Took nearly a month to get money refunded. They still haven't refunded postage. Almost impossible to get through on phone. emails ignored or not read properly. Wosrt experience I have ever had with an online company's customer services

The card died after 6 weeks, I then sent it back for RMA. They took 30 WORKING days to send a replacement.....The replacement then died within 2 weeks of receiving it and I had to RMA that.......7 weeks later I am still waiting for the next replacement. Customer Service with this company is completly non-existant.

Bought a motherboard and a few small items and things went fine, delivery arrived on time (almost didnt, but that was amtracks fault), overall, pretty painless, the real time email status update thing was about 12 hours out of date, but aside from that, great stuff, they had stock when everyone else didnt :) edit: board turned out to be dead, but customer service was brilliant, collected and refunded within the week. no complaints here :)

Ordered a Case & Pioneer 111d on Friday, skimpt on the delivery choice and went for 'no rush super saver vini's a cheapskate' shipping and was told to expect despatch on Tuesday the 27th. I was suprised to learn that not only had they despatched friday, but Amtrak were good/sensible enough to leave the parcel with neighbours when they tried to deliver on Monday. Awesome.

Just want to add my comments here to warn prospective customers Been a customer for several years and MD have had a couple of grand out of me and a bit more from friends & family and I\'ve had no reason to contact them or deal with their customer services... until this week. Ordered a Viewsonic VP171B-2 8ms TFT on the Sunday and on the Tuesday a VP171B 16ms TFT was delivered. No problem I thought, someone in the warehouse has picked the wrong model - I\'ll just email them and sort it out. It\'s now over 10 days since they delivered the wrong monitor and I\'m still trying to sort it out - they won\'t answer the phone and it seems as if they only do emails once a day, they\'ve got the old monitor back and having said yesterday at 5pm that they would send a replacement out today (they had 2 left) they\'ve emailed today and said they have sold out! I\'ve sent an email asking for the silver version instead (which does show as in-stock) but no reply as yet... I will never, ever buy from MD again! Needless to

Bought a couple of bits from md (paxmate, couple of akasa ambers, headset) ordered them 30 mins later they were despatched, i was even more pleased when they arrived next day when i was quote 2-3 days. Everything was there, all worked TOP STORE will buy from them again :P

Bought a motherboard which was DOA, return postage cost me £10 and the RMA took a week. The replacement wasnt sent to the delivery address I specified but to my billing address, where the delivery company handed it over to the first person they saw - who wasnt me but my theiving chav neighbours. Theft was reported to the police and the item later recovered but held for evidence. MicroDirect refused to accept any responsibilty or offer a replacement or refund and never even said sorry. This lot would have to be paying me before I used them ever again!

Well, placed an order for an Antec P160 case, PSU and side window. Got a 15 inch Monitor delivered instead of the case, took ages to contact someone to arrange for pick up and drop. Being honest Matt explained that they had delivered one of the items incorrectly (paperwork and Amtrack labels all correct!) and asked them to deliver the Case and take away the monitor. I wonder how Microdirect measures customer satisfaction? To give them credit they did arrange for the monitor to be picked up and the case to be dropped off...but this took forever on a 0870 phone line got cut off several times! I willl not be using them again, I did not like the website design. All items arrived in good condition.

I am lucky that I live 2 miles from Microdirect. I would never use their web based service as its reputation (I have friends with first hand experiences) is very very bad. The new web site layout is rubbish (their old one was brilliant!!). I use them because they are very very well priced on the majority of components (except graphics cards) and I always deal face to face. I have had several faulty products from them (you do when you buy approx 100 items per year) and they now no not to mess with me when I say something is faulty, however this has taken many protracted visits and conversations to iron out, and generally their service for faulty parts is very poor, and comes across as ignorant and condiscending. I have actually snapped a motherboard in the shop in front of other customers when they refused to swap it saying that it worked, even tho the board had no post and they would not actually prove to me that it worked. If you ae an inexperienced buyer, do not go here as they wil offer very little advice or assistance, stick to osmewhere like PC World (I am serious) where the goods amy cost a bit more, but you can get advice that means something and they actually know the meaning of service and will talk to you, not dismiss you.

You only find about a company when something goes wrong, Microdirect have failed to responed to email, they leave you on hold for ages and totally fail to abide by the The Sale of Goods Act. Unless you want to have to issue court proceeding against a company to get your money back, I would recommed you bought elsewhere.

15 days and another phone call to amtrak shows that they havent sent out the order again. I quick phone call to microdirect shows that yes they haven\'t sent it out at all. The person Stuart was very helpful and apolegetic but its not good enough that I\'ve waited this long because of their mistake. Fingers crossed for tommorow but I\'m not holding my breath.

I have spent a lot of money with microdirect and up till now they have been fine. However this order has been a total shambles from start to finish. I made two orders one on the 14th(sunday) and one on the 15th(Monday) , they both arrived on the same day the 16th , but the second order was missing the shuttle barebones I ordered. I rang them up straight away and spent 20mins on hold before finally speaking to some1. I explained the situation and they said they would have to speak to dispatch to find out what happened and they would ring me back. I had to return call so I rang them next day to hear the same response. again no phone call back. On the third day I read the poor girl the riot act on the phone telling her it was unacceptable and that I had let down clients because of their poor service. She was very helpful and sorted things out stating that they would send a shuttle out that day. I pointed out that it wouldnt get to me by friday(as it was now friday) and that I was going to be away for the following week so wouldnt be there to accept the parcel so could they send it out as a saturday delivery as they had messed me around so much. They wouldnt without a £25 charge which I refused. Its now a week later , I\'ve got back to no card from amtrak and when I rang them they say they would have returned the item to microdirect after two days!!!! So here I am 2 weeks after my order with no shuttle. I rang them again just now and they are sending out another shuttle which will get it god knows when. This is the very last time I will use this store.
