Power, Temperature and Noise
Offering about 2x the pure performance of the GTX 970 OC, the MSI Gaming X shows the progress made in terms of energy efficiency.
Twin Frozr VI is a capable cooler that's not stressed by the underlying GPU. MSI could tune it for lower temperatures at the expense of noise.
But that would certainly be a misstep. The sample card strikes an excellent balance between temps and noise; we could barely hear the fans during full-on load. Logs show the two fans spin at 1,400rpm after 10 minutes of constant load.
