3DMark is the latest version of this hugely-popular synthetic benchmark. Making use of DX11 features such as tessellation, compute shaders and multi-threading, it provides modern-day results and is available as a free download.

Gigabyte's modest overclock sees the WindForce 3X slot in just behind the Palit and Zotac competitors, but the card is still comfortably faster than reference - to the tune of about six per cent.

It's worth noting, also, that the three custom-cooled variants all use GPU Boost 2.0 to reach different speeds. On average, we found that Gigabyte's card ramped up to 1,241MHz, while Palit's card would run at 1,255MHz and Zotac's at 1,280MHz.
