Introduction

The past year I have reviewed many Vantec products. I always find they are well built, with great functionality and these elements usually make a very successful product. In recent week’s I have been asked to look at the new range of fan and light controllers that Vantec have released. The NXP-301 and NXP-305 are the latest additions to the Vantec family.

Both these fan controllers have capabilities of controlling up to 3 fan’s and 2 cold cathodes. If you have been living in the Dark Age’s for the past few years you won’t have a clue why anyone would want to put a cold cathode tube inside a computer case. Computer Modding is still a big hit and probably will be for a long time yet. Putting cold cathode fluorescent lighting inside your computer isn’t going to make it go any faster, but it certainly looks great.

Since the NXP-301 and NXP-305 are so similar, I have decided to review them both together.
