Ok, I promise this is the last article on them...

HEXUS @ CeBIT 2007 Yes, yes, I know all I seem to have done is crack on about the Commodore Gaming PCs but I did think you’d all like to have a look inside one of these new machines... but in actual fact this as a peek inside several machines as they represent a progression of the development cycle...

First up is the dirty great case fan mounted on the side, something that I’ve been pondering for a while as big fans have to only spin slowly to draw the equivalent amount of air as a smaller fan spinning noisily...

Now you might notice that these fans have coloured LEDs going on, which may or may not be your bag. The cool thing is that with the press of a button mounted on the front of the case you can cycle through the various colours to one you like or just switch them off completely. You can do this not only for the big side fan but for the intake fan round the front too.

This next pic shows the same side panel but from a different machine, this one now sporting the noise reducing foam layer that will cover the inside of all the panels...

Now this is a look inside the case at the workings of the PC itself... there’s not much point talking about the components as this is subject to the spec of the PC but what is worth noting is the Commodore branded PSU. Ignore the messy cabling, this will all be trimmed to length giving a custom fit for everything.

And below we have a close up of the cooling solution, which is an innovative way of ensuring cool air is drawn over the CPU heat-piped cooling fins. The odd looking plastic encased thing on the right of the fan is essentially a chiller, which the fan pulls the case air over, cooling it as it goes. This is then blown through the CPU cooler to give even more effective heat removal. Sweet, huh?

And have a look on the next page for entirely gratuitous snaps of more of those cracking case designs. HEXUS @ CeBIT 2007
