Earlier this week we witnessed a splurge of new components and machines in concert with the launch of the latest 8th Generation Intel Core processors. However, PC systems and components makers haven't finished with their rollouts yet, as Asus ROG proves in an email to HEXUS, providing details of its new ROG Zephyrus M laptop and ROG Huracan desktop - and more.

Asus ROG 8th Gen Intel laptops

Asus highlighted the new ROG Zephyrus M (GM501) as providing "gaming-desktop levels of performance in a compact package". This laptop is built around a 15.6-inch IPS-level display with a superfast 144Hz refresh rate and ultra-responsive 3ms GTG response time. Powering this machine Asus have chosen an 8th Generation Intel Core CPU and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics chip. Sustained performance is aided by the patented ROG Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) and 12-volt anti-dust fans.

A more powerful version of the ROG Zephyrus M (GM501), without the 'M' suffix and with the codename GX501GI, features an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 (Max-Q) graphics.

The Asus ROG G703 is built around a 17.3-inch FHD IPS-level display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms GTG response time, with an anti-glare coating, and Nvidia G-SYNC technology. This beefy portable packs a factory-overclocked 8th Generation Intel Core i9 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. Additionally HyperDrive Extreme storage uses exclusive Asus technology to provide gamers with RAID 0 SSD speeds of up to 8,700MB/s.

If you are an eSports enthusiast Asus has built the ROG Strix SCAR Edition to appeal. Again it features up to the latest 8th Generation Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce 10-Series graphics. The IPS-level display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and Nvidia G-SYNC technology should ensure super-smooth visuals in FPS eSports titles like Counter-Strike, Overwatch, and Team Fortress 2. Strix SCAR Edition also has a desktop-style keyboard with Aura Sync, N-key rollover, and fast- actuating keys.

Very similar to the above but aimed at MOBA players is the ROG Strix Hero Edition, pictured above. This machine packs an 8th Generation Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce 10-Series graphics, and features a 120Hz display with wide-view technology and a 130% sRGB colour gamut. Asus boasts of a particularly durable keyboard in this machine with a 20-million-key-press lifespan.

The ROG Strix GL503 / GL703 are also aimed at the eSports market and combine up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. These 15- and 17-inch gaming laptops feature Asus Anti-Dust Cooling (ADC) system and the colourful and adaptable Aura Sync technology.

Headlining this section is the Asus ROG Huracan (G21). Asus builds this system, pictured below, around an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics. A magnetically-secured side cover that can be opened to increase airflow for better cooling, says Asus, and this action can activate a CPU and GPU boost and special Aura lighting effects. In other noteworthy features Asus ROG has equipped an ESS Sabre DAC and amplifier on the front audio jack and a 2.5-inch hot-swap bay for an SSD.

The Asus ROG Strix GL12, pictured below, is a beefy tower PC powered by up to an 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. Asus says that its hot-swap bay for a 2.5-inch SSD allows gamers to remove and replace the drive in seconds, all without having to shut down the system. You can buy this system with or without the Aura Sync RGB LED frills.

In its email to HEXUS, Asus said that all the above PC systems will be available from the end of April.

I hate the fact this is happening and companies are bending over. Making a new sub brand won't change the fact it will take time to build the brand image and uninformed people who prefer Asus won't consider Arez

Really hope AMD can produce a competitive, or even for a little while Nvidia beating card so they can tell the disloyal partners to get stuffed when it comes to having them.

The 570 is just as fast as the 1060 6GB - the 500 series were nvidia beating (faster, at the same cost) until everyone decided they were happy to pay more for them & prices went silly.
