G.SKILL emailed HEXUS with the news that it has again broke memory speed world records. This time the Taiwanese firm boasts that its overclocked Ripjaws 4 DDR4 memory achieved a clock speed of 4795.8MHz.

Illustrating just how competitive performance RAM makers are, ADATA emailed us only a few minutes earlier claiming 'superior overclocking' capability on day one of the Skylake launch, as its XPG Z1 DDR4 RAM achieved a certified speed of 4605MHz.

The latest world record breaking speeds for G.SKILL memory were achieved by Chi-Kui Lam. Extreme overclocker Lam used G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 DDR4 memory (using select Samsung ICs), the newly launched Intel Core i7-6700K processor and a new ASRock Z170 OC Formula motherboard, for the liquid nitrogen fuelled feat.

The world record has been validated by both HWBOT and CPU-Z. Commenting upon his number one spot in the world record table Lam wrote "ASROCK Z170 OC Formula for the win!! Thank you Nickshih and G.SKILL".

G.SKILL notes that achieving the top spot in DDR4 speeds isn't a one-off victory for its memory. "G.SKILL DDR4 memory is also used in an overwhelming majority of new records upon Skylake launch," says the performance PC components firm, linking to these results at HWBOT (screenshot below).

Returning to the ADATA DDR4 overclocking press release, this rival firm achieved a 4605MHz memory speed on the newly launched Skylake platform. Its XPG Z1 DDR4 dual-channel memory was overclocked in a system based upon an Intel Core i7-6700K processor and an MSI Z170A motherboard.
