EVGA, the premier Nvidia authorised partner, has emailed HEXUS about a new power supply it is introducing. The EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 power supply can deliver 1200W of continuous power with 92 per cent efficiency. It is also a fully modular design which will help you keep your system cabling to a minimum and prevent unneccessary air flow obstructions.

The P2 suffix denotes that this is a second generation Platinum certified power supply from EVGA's range. This 80 PLUS Platinum high efficiency PSU can operate at 50 per cent load with 92 per cent efficiency. Its 1200W of power should help supply enough juice "to eliminate all system bottlenecks and achieve unrivalled performance," says EVGA.

The modular cable connections are shown clearly above

EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 specifications:

  • Platinum Rated Efficiency
  • ECO Thermal Control
  • Heavy-duty protections, including OVP (Over Voltage Protection), UVP (Under Voltage Protection), OCP (Over Current Protection), OPP (Over Power Protection), and SCP (Short Circuit Protection)
  • Nvidia SLI ready
  • Single +12V Rail with up to 99.9A
  • Fully Modular Design
  • Double Ball Bearing Fan for reliability and quiet performance
  • 10 year warranty (MTBF is 100,000 hours = 11.4 years of continuous use)

Furthermore EVGA insists that its use of 100 per cent "highest quality Japanese solid state capacitors" will offer users the best in stability and overclockability.

The EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 power supply is said to be available "immediately" in the US priced at $269.99. In the UK/Europe it is listed at €185,00, however availability is flagged by a 'notify me' icon allowing you to sign up for an email alert when it ships this side of the pond.
