OKI Europe has launched a next generation A3 white toner printer at the FESPA 2017 show, currently being held in Hamburg, Germany. The OKI Pro8432WT is said to be light and compact, boasting "the smallest footprint compact design without compromise" (but its 37Kg). Even more compelling is OKI's claim that the supplied toner cartridges provided with the machine can "easily make the profit to cover the capital costs". Thus is you've been thinking of adding a white toner laser to your available printing equipment it sounds rather attractive.

"The Pro8432WT is designed to fit any print shop or design studio where space is at a premium, as a fast-turnaround, short run alternative to silk screen and other decorative methods," explains Lee Webster, GM of Product Marketing at OKI Europe Ltd. He adds that the OKI Pro8432WT is easy to set up and a good choice for generating new printing revenue streams or light production printing.

The opacity and quality of the white toner, a USP of this printer, is said to be excellent and is of course complemented by other standard colour laser toners; vivid CMY, and strong black colours. The OKI Pro8432WT comes with three free white toner carts as standard, good for about 13,000 white pages.

With suitable transfer media, creating attractive objects for art and promotion with strong opacity toners is said to be a cinch. Low temperature transfer media used alongside the OKI Pro8432WT can be used to decorate "any substrate from cotton and man-made synthetic fabrics, to metal, glass, acrylic and even wood," says OKI. Setup costs are substantially lower than other digital printing techniques such as direct-to-garment, it is noted. The toner colours are said to be formulated to last through many a wash.
