Nvidia has released the GeForce 344.16 WHQL driver for its 900 Series graphics cards. This release has come very quickly after the mere days old GeForce 344.11 WHQL and the GeForce 344.16 Beta drivers. It has brought both bug fixes and updated gaming application profiles compared to 344.11 but is said to be identical, except for certification, to the 344.16 Beta.

The release notes (PDF) provide a full breakdown of what's new in this driver release. Most of the changes highlighted by Nvidia are gaming application profiles, 3D Vision profiles and 3D Compatibility mode support.

This Game Ready WHQL driver is said to bring the "best possible gaming experience for the latest new blockbuster titles" including Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, The Evil Within, F1 2014, and Alien: Isolation. (Though Nvidia said the same for the GeForce 344.11 WHQL Drivers) Other new/updated profiles detailed are for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, Dead Rising 3 - SLI disabled, Divinity: Original Sin, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Gauntlet - SLI disabled, GRID Autosport, IL-2: Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad, Metro Redux, Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth, Skyforge, Strife - SLI disable and Titanfall.

3D Vision Profiles were added or updated the following profiles:

  • Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - rated as Fair
  • Dead Rising 3 - Not recommended
  • F1 2014 - rated as Good
  • GRID Autosport - rated as Excellent
  • Strife - rated as Fair

3D Compatibility Mode Support has been added for the following games:

  • Assassin’s Creed: Freedom City - rated as Excellent
  • Halo: Spartan Assault - rated as Excellent
  • Murdered Soul Suspect - rated as Excellent
  • Sniper Elite 3 - rated as Excellent

Nvidia fixed errors with the previous driver which occurred when using the ASUS Rampage Black motherboard (Code 49 error ) and AsRock x79 motherboard (Code 43 error) when checking the GPU in Device Properties.

The GeForce 344.16 WHQL driver is downloadable now. Yesterday HEXUS reviewed the ASUS GeForce GTX 970 Strix, read about that here if you haven't done so yet.

Hope this fixes the horrible card-not-resuaming-from sleep crashes my 750ti has had since the last update…
I've not updated my drivers for ages as I've not had Internet or a monitor. Be interesting to see if there are any noticeable performance gains at 1440p
tied these with my 660ti 3gb ftw+ edition. Crashed it after 40min or so for 3 days, ended up going back to 340.52
