Today Corsair has launched a trio of Carbide Series SPEC Gaming cases. These are said to offer aggressive styling, modern features, superior air cooling and expandability on a budget. Corsair says the SPEC range "offers everything gamers need from a case and nothing they don't". With the unnecessaries stripped out we are presented with a lean and mean chassis perfect for PC gamers on a budget.

"Entry level cases are usually antiquated, old designs. Some still have room for floppy drives," said George Makris, Product Manager at Corsair. "With the addition of the Carbide Series SPEC to our line, gamers can now get a case with modern features and great styling combined with superior cooling and expandability at a fantastic price."

The Corsair SPEC range has great cooling and extensive cable routing options. Despite the budget price the looks haven't been neglected and the cases offer thoughtful yet aggressive gaming chassis styling and all feature a large side panel window. The range is equipped with at least one LED fan.

Expansion options are well catered for with support provided for the largest of graphics cards, plenty of fan fitting options and seven expansion slots. The full spec of the erm… Corsair SPEC range is listed below in the table to quickly check and compare.

Comes at a perfect time for me! Just about to do a big PC upgrade and I might have issues fitting a longer gfx card into my old Thermaltake Armour Jr case, so would definitley pick one of these up. The current carbide looked quite good but I much prefer the look of these.
I must say that those look horrific in my eyes
Not bad I think quite a few OEM's might do well to include these in some of the budget builds - be interesting to see how the $50/60 price translates to pounds and pennies though … Corsairs world domination continues apace it seems.

Yeah, I never thought about it before but I just noticed that I have Corsair branded RAM and a mouse on my current system, and just purchased more Corsair RAM, PSU, and potentially one of these cases for my new one, all of which were purchased due to value for money over anything else. They make decent stuff and don't charge the earth. Tech support were good when I needed them too - can't complain.
Fear that Corsair is on the same tacky naff path that Thermaltake took 7 years ago.

Would prefer they stick to the mid/high end of cases and pushed out quality designs instead.
