PRESS RELEASE

All-in-one protection offered to consumers backed by £300 virus free guarantee*

17th November 2014 - Comodo Group is launching the latest incarnation of it's all-in-one protection software into the UK Market, backed by a £300 virus free guarantee*.

Immediately available in the UK, Comodo Internet Security 8 builds upon previous anti-virus suites and offers users a unique and patented prevention tool for unknown viruses as well as a detection tool for known viruses, stopping ALL viruses at the door.

Comodo Internet Security 8 introduced policy based automatic sandboxing, enabling users to create automatic sandboxing rules based on parameters such as file reputation, origin and source. Also introduced is a new default auto-sandboxing policy, which is fine-tuned to isolate risky unknown applications.

Comodo's auto-sandboxing technology inspects each file that attempts to run on a computer and instantly compares the files to White Lists of good files and Black Lists of dangerous files. If a file is not on either list it is restricted using Auto Sandbox TechnologyTM so that users are protected and can still work until the file is added to the correct list and either released or removed, guaranteeing against infection.

Other improvements and new features for Comodo Internet Security 8 include:

  • Hardware virtualisation - Enhanced Protection Mode makes use of Intel VT-x or AMD SVM Virtualization when available
  • Extended logging - CIS 8 can now send security and configuration events to Windows Event Logs
  • Viruscope - improve performance and now enabled by default, monitoring more activities and works on any application, including those sandboxed
  • New UI theme - "Flat Tile" theme with updated icons and colours for a better look and feel
  • Performance improvements -wireless cop (behaviour analysis module of CIS 8) has been improved to become a background process

Comodo CEO and founder Melih Abdulhayoğlu says "Comodo Internet Security 8 is a giant leap forward in anti-virus software and we've improved and refined our auto-sandboxing technology to make it even better for consumers. We value feedback we get from customers and have made this a central aspect of development for CIS 8, improving our auto-sandboxing technology based on what consumers would like to do but in a way that still gives them complete security."

"Traditional anti-virus solutions CANNOT protect you from the thousands of new variants of malware released into the wild every day. It is impossible for traditional anti-virus programmes to black list all these unknown variants and protect users and it is utter madness to expect traditional anti-virus to give you complete protection."

A free trial version of Comodo Internet Security is available via the Comodo website: http://www.comodo.com/.

Comodo Internet Security 8 is now available in the UK with an RRP of £30 per year, which covers three machines. This includes the virus-free warranty and GeekBuddy online support.

*Virus-Free Guarantee is £298.54 ($500)
