December 11, 2013 - Taipei, TAIWAN - GIGABYTE, a notable brand in the Gaming Notebooks segment in partnership with Freaks 4U Gaming, recently announced a Dota 2 open tournament --- GIGABYTE Gaming Notebooks Cup (GNBC). The GNBC is a biweekly Dota 2 tournament hosted on www.joinDOTA.com from December 2013 until February 2014. As the first of its kind, GNBC is open for all community gamers to partake and have fun.
A total of 5 tournaments will be played out in the 3-month duration with a $500 prize awarded to the winning team of each tournament. The last final of the quarter will be live-streamed worldwide on joinDOTA with live castings of Austin "TheCapitalist" Walsh, an up and rising American Dota 2 commentator who recently relocated to Berlin in pursuit of a full time casting career.
The first tournament held on December 7th saw over 200 community teams compete, which was hailed as the first step towards supporting the DOTA community.
