The turn of the year always seems a good time to start planning any PC upgrades that could happen over the course of the next 12 months. And 2017 seems to hold plenty of potential.

Intel's Kaby Lake is merely the tip of the iceberg, as we can also look forward to Ryzen CPUs and Vega GPUs from a seemingly revitalised AMD. Rumours surrounding the fabled GeForce GTX 1080 Ti aren't going away, memory keeps getting faster, as do SSDs, and there's plenty happening on the display front. FreeSync 2 and G-Sync HDR are around the corner, Dell's 8K display is a sign of the visual goodness to come, and virtual reality is set to receive a jolt in the arm via Microsoft's Windows 10 Creators Update.

Plenty to consider, so let us contemplate: which PC components are you looking to upgrade in 2017? Share your thoughts using the comments facility below.

let's see..
quad-core is still enough.
internal GPU is still enough since i don't play games anymore.
i suppose what i need are :
* RAM to be upgraded from 4GB to 2x4GB.
* plus a 250GB SATA SSD of which i'm considering WD Blue or Samsung 750 Evo.
* a 80+ Gold with minimum wattage, like Seasonic G360.
i think that's about all ;)
All of them.
A third SSD because I've run out of storage (a full 500GB is audio libraries for Kontakt and Reaktor that take a painfully long time to load from HDD). Aside from that, I think I'm done with building desktop PCs and I'll just buy laptops from now on.
27“/29” 2k IPS monitor to put in between my existing 23“ ones and a ”quiet" Geforce 1060
I would say an AMD 4C/8T Ryzen if they get released this year, but it will be dependent on what the exchange rates look like at the time(will go secondhand or refurbished most likely if the pound does not hold).
