Double trouble?

ViewSonic has launched a dual-SIM Android smartphone called the V350 and 10 inch tablet for business people called the ViewPad 10Pro.

Both devices are designed to let busy business brains switch between their work and personal life using a single device.

The V350 smartphone boasts a 3.5 inch display and is an active Dual-SIM device powered by Android 2.2.Froyo. ViewSonic said the handset's dual-SIM capability is "ideal for businesses wishing to provide staff with a mobile device that can offer separate numbers and bills for both personal and business use."

The phone will also let travelers carry one phone while using different price plans and networks in different countries. One the hardware side, the handset has an HVGA capacitive touch screen, 5MP auto-focus camera, Micros SD-expansion, Wi-Fi and GPS.

Meanwhile, the ViewPad 10Pro is a 10 inch professional tablet with dual boot functionality, lets users flick between Windows 7 Professional for work use and Android 2.2 for personal and social entertainment.

The dual-boot enables user to access business software and play on Android ‘without switching completely'.

ViewSonic said the tablet is one of the first to have the Intel Oak Trail processor combined with support for flash 10.1. It has a 1024x600 LED backlit multi-touch panel with 3G and at least 6 hours of battery life.

"Last month Deloitte predicted, in its annual sector forecast, that UK companies will buy more than 10 million tablet devices in 2011. ViewSonic is well placed to capitalize on this market and offers users the best of both worlds from one device" said Derek Wright, product marketing manager at ViewSonic Europe.

I've been waiting for a decent dual sim phone for a while. People don't get it yet but that 2nd SIM can be game changing. You can have one SIM for just data such as 3 along with your contract number. Wonder about the SAR levels though… Hope it's not vaporware
I agree with you. I've seen a few dual sim phones on ebay but none of them do 3g yet :(
Dual SIM phones are really popular in emerging markets where reception and network reliability can vary massively. Would be good to see this become more mainstream on decent smartphones, would be great for those that travel a lot too. Your contract SIM partnered with a local PAYG.
