The Star Wars Battlefront closed alpha began yesterday. Participants in the closed alpha were asked, in an end-user agreement, to not publish videos of the game online. However it seems like that small print has been largely ignored and EA has been spending the last few hours playing whack-a-mole and taking down video footage from all sorts of video sharing and hosting sites like YouTube, Vimeo, and Daily Motion.

As well as the videos, Star Wars Battlefront PC alpha players took and published screenshots, and 'data mined' the game files to find out about undisclosed equipment, weapons, vehicles, customisations, maps, modes and so on.

Data mining has revealed that weapons, probably unlockable and available, will include the E11, A280, DH17, DL44, DLT19, DLT20a, EE3, Rocket Launcher, SE14c, and the T21. Of these the E33 is most probably locked to the Boba Fett character. Vehicles at a player's disposal are expected to include the T-65 X-wing, the Tie Fighter, Lambda Shuttle, Y-wing, Tie-Bomber, Corellian Corvette, Nebulon B Frigate, Imperial Star Destroyer, Mon Calamari Capital Ship Home One, AT-ST, AT-AT, Tie Interceptor, and the 74-Z Speeder Bike.

A good source for 4K Ultra settings screenshots from the PC version of the game is at allgamesbeta. The screenshots show a detailed view of the environment on Tatooine. As for the videos I am going to embed a couple below, and check back over the next few days to see if they get erased.

The first video, above, shows an assault on Hoth supported by walkers and the second one, below, is of survival mode game play on Tatooine.

lets be honest here… EA isn't exactly the brightest of companies, you'd think they'd want ‘free publicity’ about a new game, just get posters of videos to clearly state it's still in beta/alpha or whatever. But no EA is like nah we don't want to make players like us so lets take them all down….

you still expect something good from EA…. I more surprised they're still alive considering all the flack they get (mostly deserved too) but they're actually making huge profits at the moment.. but then re-skinning doesn't cost much lol.
