DRM-free games distribution network GOG has launched a new initiative called 'Games in Development'. The initiative launches with just five "excellent hand-picked games" in its roster, but buyers will benefit from GOG's reassuring 14-day no-questions-asked refund policy and, as usual, no DRM unpleasantries.

GOG announced 'Games in Development' a few hours ago, with the above pictured / below listed five games available:

The above games are hand-picked by GOG as it has evaluated the titles and feels it can "truly stand behind," the quality on offer. All the five games are said to be highly requested on the Community Wishlist and are the most promising of the games in development at the current time.

GOG wishes to build trust that the games will continue to be developed, polished and completed with its simple refund policy: "all games in development can be returned for any reason within 14 days of purchase". As you can see in the bullet point list, the first five games also come with a range of price discounts from 15 to a hefty 40 per cent off intended final prices. Interestingly one of the first DirectX 12 games, Ashes of the Singularity by Oxide Games, is featured.

Gamers are reminded that the GOG Galaxy Client is a quick and easy way to keep up to date with all your GOG games, or rolling back to a previous version of a game if you need/feel like it. If you have any questions about GOG's new Games in Development offerings, hopefully it is covered in the new FAQ. The GOG user agreement has been amended (sections 6.12, 6.13, and 6.14) to accommodate the new initiative.
