HDTV upgrade for the PS2 on show

GC 2006 Fire International has confirmed that it will be showcasing the new PS2 Xploder HDTV Player (incorporating HDTV Game Player and HDTV DVD Movie Player) at GC, August 23rd - 26th 2006 (Meeting Room D66 – GC Business Centre).

Last week Fire announced the launch of the PS2 HDTV Player - the ultimate PS2 upgrade that unlocks the capabilities of your PS2, allowing you to play games and watch DVDs* in High Definition (HD). Now Fire has confirmed that trade and press delegates will be able to see the application in action for the first time at GC 2006.

Scheduled for release on 1st September with an RRP of £29.99 (€49.99), the Xploder HDTV Player will be available for both PAL and NTSC PS2 consoles.

Xploder HDTV Player allows you to:
Select HD modes 720p or 1080i to give a clearer, crisper picture quality.
Play games and DVDs in 480p mode; a higher resolution for improved image quality.
Choose from a variety of superior VGA options.**

Fire is recommending that members of the press, retailers and distributors book an appointment to see the side-by-side comparison of games being played with and without the Xploder HDTV Player as soon as possible.[advert]

As well as getting a first look at the Xploder HDTV Player, visitors to Meeting Room D66 in the GC Business Centre will be able to find out more about the new range of Xploder Media software applications, including Xploder Media Centre for XBOX 360, Xploder Movie Player for Mobile Phones and Xploder Media Centre for iPod.

*Xploder HDTV Player PRODUCT UPDATE: Whilst for optimum performance it is recommended that DVDs are played using the 480p Enhanced Definition (ED) Mode, Xploder HDTV Player is capable of playing back movies in higher resolutions including the 720p and 1080i HD modes, providing PS2 owners with even more options for playing DVDs and games, with optimal image quality through the HDTV.

** Requires VGA Cable (available separately from www.xploder.net)
