Twinhan DTV MagicBox

Starting with Twinhan's external USB 2.0 product, the DTV MagicBox, we find ourselves with a compact, black affair, complete with stand. To be honest, staring into the receiver for the remote control signal feels a little like looking at HAL 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey, but don't let that put you off - I didn't have any problems with our review unit singing "Daisy" or refusing to obey commands.

The simple yet functional feel extends to the rear of the unit, where we find simply the USB and RF aerial connectors for the device. It's safe to say that you can't really go wrong hooking this up to your PC!

The remote control continues the simple yet effective theme - Everything is neatly laid out and every button only has a single function, although to be honest I felt that the Stop and Pause/Timeshift buttons were in a slightly irregular position, as you'd expect to find them alongside the standard playback controls. All of the devices functionality is covered by the remote, from screen captures through to timeshifting.
