What to expect

Despite the compact approach, the Expressionist PLUS boasts a total continuous power output of 33 watts - that's 8 watts more than the pricier Expressionist BASS.

Altec Lansing claims the 25 watt subwoofer will deliver "authoritative bass that extends down to 50Hz". Any audiophile would be hard pushed to class 50Hz as authoritative, but for a PC-orientated speaker system at this price range, the specification is decent and the system's dimensions should prove to be favourable among those seeking a space-saving design.

In addition to what should be decent sound, Altec Lansing has opted to maintain the high-quality finish of its Expressionist line with a style that makes the Expressionist PLUS equally pleasing on the eye.
