PRESS RELEASE

London, UK – March 3, 2017 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the latest Galaxy XCover ruggedised smartphone – the XCover 4 – at Mobile World Congress. Available in Europe from April, the new Galaxy XCover 4 combines a bigger HD display and reduced bezel, increased memory, as well as encompassing elements of the Galaxy design foundation of refined craftsmanship. It also features additional durability for withstanding the most extreme conditions – a significant step-up from its predecessor, the Galaxy XCover 3.

“At Samsung, we continuously endeavour to ensure our customers have the most advanced products that meet their needs for both work and pleasure,” said Jean-Daniel Ayme, Corporate Vice President of European Mobile Division, Samsung Electronics. “The XCover 4 is a true testimony to our pursuit of innovation, possessing a range of great features which make it the perfect tool for working in any environment, whilst embracing the core Galaxy foundation with its design”.

The Galaxy XCover 4 features a sleeker, slimmer design with improved grip and reduced bezel, that draws on Samsung’s resilient design and rugged device heritage. Coupled with the key glove mode feature, this makes it effortless to hold and use the smartphone. In addition, hard keys on the XCover 4 are customisable for quick and convenient access to frequently used apps, such as the LED torch or camera.

Using your smartphone in extreme and intense conditions, and staying connected for longer, has never been so easy. As a focal element of the Galaxy foundation, the XCover 4 debuts IP68 dust- and water-resistance* Ingress Protection rating in the XCover range, the advanced, higher resolution 5MP front and 13MP rear powerful camera, and a longer lasting removable battery.

Storing large amounts of data has also been made simple thanks to the increased memory (16GB) and the additional RAM (2GB) makes the XCover 4 more powerful – ideal for both personal and professional use. Samsung Knox 2.7., inbuilt on the XCover 4, also provides defence-grade security from the moment the smartphone is turned on, due to its multi-layered platform. Combined with the Android 7.0 Nougat OS and MIL-STD 810G certification, this improves efficiency, performance and usability, making the XCover 4 the ideal rugged smartphone for your business.

The Galaxy XCover 4 will be available in Europe in early April. For more information, visit www.samsungmobilepress.com.
