20th February 2017 – Honor UK is to launch the Android Nougat 7.0 for the Honor 8 and Honor 8 Premium today.
On top of the multitude of new features with Nougat, Honor has made great efforts to enhance Android even further. The updated user interface of EMUI 5.0 brings wide aperture video mode enabling a Hollywood-like look for video shots, a community requested app drawer that lists all apps in alphabetical order, and App Twin, allowing different WhatsApp or Facebook accounts on a single Honor phone.

“Apart from updating to Android Nougat our engineers have been adding value through useful features via EMUI 5.0 as well.” says Akin Li, Managing Director of Honor Business Western Europe. “Our customers can now experience new innovative features like the wide aperture mode also for video shots. Although technically quite challenging, we have managed to fulfil this users’ request with our new update. And, again, Honor is the first with such an innovative feature on the market.”
The Honor 8 has a state-of-the art design with 2.5d glass on both sides, metal mullion with diamond-cut edges and a seamless body. Its 3D grating effect on the rear cover comes from 15 layers of technology.
The handset also has a wide-angle dual 12MP camera lens, two large pixel sensors, enabling more light for a better picture. Contrast focusing, laser focusing and depth of focusing work together in an unrivalled way. The 8MP front camera is equipped with selfie mode capabilities.
Combine these with a super-fast processor and a super-fast-charging battery which promise the handset’s endurance will last beyond your own.
Android Nougat will be rolled out in waves in the following weeks across Europe. Users will be able to download the software update via the HiCare app. In order to get the update, users need to upgrade their HiCare app to version 2.0.2 or above first and select “Europe” and “OS upgrade early adopters” in the app. Then open “Settings” and tap “Updater” and “Check for Updates”.
