KNOWHOW MOVIES signs UK content deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

Tuesday 27th August 2013, KNOWHOW MOVIES, Dixon Retail's (owner of major UK electrical retailers Currys & PC World) subscription-free film and TV service, today announced the signing of a new major content deal. This will bring the latest blockbuster film and library titles from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) to UK customers to buy the same day that they are released on DVD and Blu-rayTM.

From today, KNOWHOW MOVIES customers will be able to buy or rent titles such as the superhero thriller The Amazing Spider-ManTM starring Andrew Garfield, 21 Jump Street, based on the hit 1980s TV comedy, and the latest instalment of the Men in Black franchise Men In Black 3. Customers will be able to watch these titles, and many others, instantly on a wide range of connected SMART TVs, Blu-ray players, PCs, tablets and smartphones without subscription.

This deal is the latest in a series signed by KNOWHOW MOVIES in the last year including Warner Bros., Disney, Momentum, Lionsgate, NBC Universal, 20th Century Fox and BBC.

KNOWHOW MOVIES customers will have access to films such as the highly anticipated epic sci-fi adventure After Earth starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith, the animation Smurfs 2 with Katy Perry as Smurfette and Hank Azaria as Gargamel, and sci-fi action adventure Elysium starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, when they are released this year. They will also be able to purchase UV (UltraViolet)-enabled SPHE titles in the near future.
