PRESS RELEASE

London, 20 February, 2015: Carphone Warehouse, the largest independent mobile phone retailer in the UK, and RootMetrics, the standard for independent mobile performance measurement, today announced they have teamed up to make it easier for customers to find the perfect mobile contract and network for their needs.

Using data collected by RootMetrics, including through the CoverageMap App, this partnership will allow Carphone Warehouse to offer customers accurate information, independent of the networks, to compare how reliably and quickly the four major network operators are performing in their area.

In-store Carphone Warehouse staff will also be using the RootMetrics CoverageMap App to assist customers. The RootMetrics CoverageMap App combines millions of scientific tests and crowd-sourced samples to provide localised views on UK network performance.

Graham Stapleton, CEO UK and Ireland at Carphone Warehouse, said: "Customers are becoming increasingly more demanding about the quality of their network. In fact, network reliability was cited by 47% of customers as the most important factor when choosing a mobile operator in the recent Enders Analysis UK mobile user survey[1] - this was closely followed by network coverage, which 36% voted the most important factor.

"At Carphone Warehouse, we are extremely proud of our reputation for helping customers to select the perfect deal for them. By working with RootMetrics we are taking affirmative action to give our customers even more in depth analysis, allowing them to make a smarter comparison of the networks before making a choice."

Bill Moore, CEO and President, RootMetrics, said: "This is an important alliance that plays to both companies' strengths. With mobile phone contracts lasting anywhere up to 24 months, choosing the right provider cannot be taken lightly. RootMetrics casts an independent light on the true mobile performance of the UK networks, and, by providing our data directly to Carphone Warehouse customers on the spot, they will be able to make more informed decisions on their mobile provider. "
