Philips DesignLine Smart TV wins iF gold award for its superior design

Amsterdam, March 3rd, 2014 - The Philips DesignLine Smart TV won the coveted Gold iF Product Design Award at the iF Ceremony in Munich (Germany). The top-class international jury honoured DesignLine's superior design that breaks with conventional TV styling. Only 50 of the 1,220 iF product design award winners were selected to receive the iF gold accolade. It is one of the most prestigious awards for innovative product design and is sponsored by International Forum Design GmbH, Hanover (Germany). In addition to the DesignLine's gold award, TP Vision received an ‘iF Product Design Award 2014' for the Philips PFL 47PFL7108S.

Philips DesignLine breaks with conventional TV design

Unconventional style makes the Philips DesignLine TV a sensational eye-catcher in modern living spaces. The front of the DesignLine TV is a seamless sheet of glass in a black to transparent gradient, which masks the screen in off-mode. When switched on, the large glass front gives the screen a magical floating effect. Philips' unique Ambilight system projects light - precisely matching the colour of the on-screen content - onto the wall behind the TV. This further enhances the impression of floating while greatly extending the viewing experience.
