BenQ Introduces New 7 and 5 Megapixel Digital Camera Line Up

Featuring 7/5 Megapixels, SMC Pentax Lens And Highly Versatile Features, This Camera Sets a New Standard in High Image Performance

6th September 2006 –BenQ today unveils two new additions to its digital camera classic lineup, the BenQ DC C740 and C540. The DC C740/C540 comes with 7 and 5 megapixels CCD, 3x optical zoom, a large 2.5” LTPS screen and a SMC (Super Multi-Coating) Pentax lens. They include features such as Shake-Free mode, high ISO portrait mode and PASM mode respectively; these cameras provide high image performance to satisfy keen photographers.

The DC C740/C540 is equipped with a SMC Pentax Lens that allows the camera to deliver exceptional crisp, sharp photos with clarity and superb contrast. Both the DC C740/540 feature a shake-free function allowing the user to take clear and precise shots without any distortion. This function can be selected directly from the function wheel allowing the user to capture shake-free images. In addition, the high ISO portrait mode supports high sensitivity (ISO) to light up to 1000 to ensure clear photos in a dark environment.

The PASM (Program AE/Aperture Priority/Shutter Priority/Manual) mode enables users to manually customize the aperture and shutter speed to one’s own preferences. Program mode controls the exposure compensation (the amount of light entering the camera). By detecting the lighting conditions, the camera automatically sets the shutter speed and aperture (f-stop).

The aperture priority mode automatically sets an appropriate shutter speed according to the user’s choice of the aperture setting; the camera automatically sets the shutter speed for proper exposure and is primarily used to control the depth of field (the range of sharpness).

Shutter priority mode controls the shutter speed and exposure compensation. The camera automatically sets the aperture for proper exposure. Shutter priority mode is primarily used to prevent blur when your subject is moving. The manual mode allows users’ the highest level of creative control in its aperture and shutter speed.

The DC C740/C540 also includes other features such as direct printing mode, continuous movie recording with optical zoom, 13 scene modes, multi-metering and 3:2 and 16:9 special output sizes; 3:2 resolution mode for easy printing without trimming edges; 16:9 resolution mode for direct display on a 16:9 TV making this BenQ DC C740/C540 an all-round, highly versatile high performance camera.
The BenQ DC C740/C540 will be available on the market in early September.
