Brand awareness

XpertVision is a graphics card brand that is apparently owned by Palit. It would be fair to say that it has a pretty low profile, in the UK at least, so the news that its brand is disappearing from the market probably won't assume seismic resonance.

Nonetheless Warrington distributor VIP has added to its recent prolific run of press releases by notifying us that all XpertVision graphics cards are now to be rebranded as Palit.

This appears to be a clear case of Palit axing a sub-brand, but VIP is chosing to add a bit of spin. The press release says that marketing resources previously divided between the two brands will now focus solely on Palit.

"By using the more famous Palit brand name instead of the old Xpertvision brand, we can help VIP's customer's benefit from the worldwide marketing activity that Palit do, so this is a really positive move," insisted  Matthew Parrish, graphics product manager at VIP. "The transition from Xpertvision to Palit is very easy as it's only the logo and packaging that's changed - the products themselves are exactly the same."

So, to summarise, Palit has scrapped the XpertVision brand.

How does marketing HELP a client? Unless they wanna send everyone a free card, I'm a little befuddled.

Still, sensible decision, even if it's meaningless.
Tell you the truth i knew about Palit but not Xpertvision
