Remote control
EMEA ISS 2008 has seen the launch of a new remote management tool from Intel called Intel Multi Site Director, which Intel thinks will help resellers to increase their service offering.
Unlike VPro, it is an entirely software/service product and will be offered through a software-as-a-service model.
This means that the channel will be able to utilise the product to remotely manage their clients’ systems without the hefty initial outlay required by many equivalent products.
What’s more it is vendor agnostic, i.e. there is no compulsion to use it to control Intel-based systems.
