PRESS RELEASE

Lenovo, the second largest PC company in the world and one of the most rapidly growing PC companies, has announced Marc Godin as vice president (VP) and general manager of Lenovo's UK & Ireland region. Marc will report directly to Gianfranco Lanci, whose tenure as EMEA president officially began on April 2nd.

"Our ambition is to become the #3 PC company in EMEA - our business in UK & Ireland is fundamental to achieving our growth targets and hitting that #3 spot. The UK & Ireland presents a real opportunity - not only because of its great potential - but also because all regions will contribute together in our success in EMEA." said Gianfranco Lanci, senior vice president (SVP) and president of Lenovo EMEA.

Lanci added: "Marc is highly experienced with a deep knowledge of the market and most recently spearheaded significant growth in our enterprise and public sector business in Western Europe. It is a fantastic period of opportunity for Lenovo and together with Marc and the other regional leaders of EMEA, I am confident we will become a top 3 PC company in EMEA by 2013."

Marc Godin commented: "We have a very well established and successful business in the UK where we are one of the top three companies in the commercial space.  My goal is to ensure we can translate that success into even higher market share, but also attack the opportunities that the consumer market presents.  We have an innovative line-up of products coming out this year across our portfolio, ones that I'm confident will inspire both consumer and business users alike."

Marc's appointment follows three years as vice president enterprise and public sector for Western Europe, where he grew the business by more than 50% and well above the market growth. Before this Marc led the company's move into the global server and workstation markets and was vice president of marketing for the worldwide notebook business unit. Marc has also served as VP, marketing and channels for Lenovo EMEA and prior to that IBM's personal computing division.
