Nvidia has released a new 'game ready' driver brimming with optimisations for VR gaming. The GeForce Game Ready 368.81 WHQL Virtual Reality drivers are optimized for Everest VR, Nvidia VR Funhouse, Obduction, Raw Data, and The Assembly. These five games launch this month for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift and green team gamers using this latest driver are promised the best performance with minimal latency.

Nvidia VR Funhouse has been heavily promoted, which is understandable given it is the firm’s “first ever video game”. It is free to download and features seven carnival games, with challenges available add fun to playing against friends and family.

Playing this Funhouse game, you will experience "bleeding-edge" Nvidia GameWorks visual effects. Behind the scenes Nvidia VRWorks' Multi-Res Shading and VR SLI techniques are used to maximize performance and image quality.

The other VR games with optimised gameplay thanks to the new driver include:

  • Everest VR – climb Everest without leaving your home…
  • Obduction – a VR puzzler with its roots back in Myst and Riven, built using Unreal Engine 4.
  • Raw Data – a fighting game featuring a range of weapons and melee combat.
  • The Assembly – an “interactive drama” adventure for mature audiences.

Nvidia’s latest GeForce driver also brings some important fixes. According to the firm 368.81 WHQL fixes HTC Vive DisplayPort incompatibility and Oculus Rift GPU Boost issues that have affected some users.

As usual Nvidia recommends you download and install its latest driver via the GeForce Experience companion app.
