Thermaltake is inviting PC builders to "take presentation to the next level" with its Core P5 Open Frame chassis. This fully modular chassis can be wall mounted, stood vertically with two supplied feet or rested horizontally. Wherever you set it up it will catch the eyes of visitors with its open frame design protected by a transparent acrylic pane.

How a PC chassis looks is pretty high up on the list of influences on many enthusiasts buying decisions. Thermaltake looks to be embracing the trend of more transparency in the chassis construction to make its Core P5 a crowd puller. In doing so it doesn't seem to be limiting this chassis suitability or capability to fit the latest powerful components or cooling solutions. In some ways it's similar, in its base, to a PC test rig with easy access to every component (when the acrylic window is detached).

As you can see in the above specs the Thermaltake Core P5 can be used with mini ITX, micro ATX and full sized ATX motherboards. It's got eight expansion slots and support for plenty of large fans and substantial water cooling setups with 'Tt LCS certification'. Its modularity affords the use of up to 4 x 3.5-inch (or 2.5-inch) drives in various permutations, and you can simply not use the drive cages that aren't required, which should help make a clean interior design.

Embracing the so called 'maker movement' Thermaltake is providing 3D printing files for users to access, alter and mod for their own use. What would you 3D print to make this chassis more useful?

The Thermaltake Core P5 ATX Open Frame chassis will be available later this month. Scan Computers in the UK have it available for pre-order at £119.99, with an ETA of 7th October. In the US it is available for pre-order at Newegg listed at $149.99, with an ETA of 15th Oct. Thermaltake's new chassis will also be made available in Australia, Germany and France.

Until someone spills their beer over it…
looks nice but need to have a level of OCD to keep it tidy
Looks more like a super fancy test bench platform than a home PC, just what a good reviewer would want. As a test bench, you are changing components all the time, so dust build up is less of a problem.
Since I have enough trouble keeping mine clean with lots of dust filters, this would be a major hassle, for me anyway.

Yeah Recently got one of Their Core X9's for Ā£123 can fit tripple 480's and a 280/360 the latter if you remove the optical bays has plenty of magnetic filters.

Not as high quality as a CaseLabs Case but then its a quarter of the price so you wouldn't expect it to be a good solid case though much better value and options then the NZXT Switch 810 I had before and which cost more money. You can stack them too like that Coolermaster HAF Stacker case
