Konami’s 8-Bit classic, action/platform arcade game, Green Beret, is to receive a new outing on Xbox Live Arcade later this year.

The 1985 release saw players taking on the role of a United States special operations soldier infiltrating an enemy military base in order to save several POW's from being executed by firing squad.

The makeoever will be retitled Rush n' Attack Ex-Patriot and like the original will feature four stages: a Marshalling Area, a Harbour, an Air Base and a Siberian Camp. Judging by this new trailer, it looks like things have changed quite dramtically since Green Beret.

Czecheslovakian studio, Vatra Games, is currently in charge of development.

Wow that looks VERY similar to shadow complex in terms of style etc
I've just clicked the comments link to say exactly the same thing!
That makes three of us… hopefully that's no bad thing though, Shadow Complex was one of the best XBLA games of last year tbh.
Wonder if they'll attempt to incorporate something inspired by the tunes in the C64 version of the old game for the elder geeks like me?

(goes to download the high voltage sid collection and grumble that they don't make 'em like they used to)

I totally agree, a new IP with a good story, great gameplay, good shelf life (the challenges extended the play time), the achievements encouraged different play styles and it was a very enjoyable game.

I think when I am done with uni it's on my list of games to 100% achievements wise
